Where Children Grow Gala

Coordination Team Member

Over two semesters, I had the privilege of working with my classmates and the leaders of the St. Thomas Early Learning Center to create their largest annual fundraiser, Where Children Grow Gala. This event invites alumni and parents of current students to come and celebrate the accomplishments of the year and to open the opportunity to donate. These donations go directly back to their facilities to allow them to continue providing the pre-kinder children of the Brazos Valley with quality education.

This opportunity highlighted, to me, the importance of group dynamics and maturity that is required to succeed as a team. I believe the hardest lesson we learned during this process was providing flexibility toward client demands and changes. Within the two weeks leading up to the event date, we were asked to incorporate elements that weren't every discussed by the client. It was frustrating but ultimately, providing the best service to fulfil client's needs is our ultimate goal in this industry.
